We now have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Supply Chain Analyst to join our high performing team for a maternity cover period of 12 months to support the Supply Chain Analyst and Demand Planning Analysts with a focus on the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring that product is moving on time and in a cost-effective way, helping to achieve monthly forecasts.
The day-to-day role:
Freight Forecast
- Review historical trends, research market conditions/expectations, and support creation of freight forecast models.
- Review historical data to identify true cost per until (CPU) and support in generation of future CPU forecasts.
- Make recommendations to the business on freight method / agent based on latest market conditions.
Inbound Tracking
- Actively work with Planning/Sourcing teams to achieve best availability, resolve supply issues, and communicate delays back to the demand planners.
- Track purchase orders/requisitions until arrival at destination.
- Monitor and track new product launches ensuring “flawless” launch to market.
- Working with global purchasing and freight forwarders to secure Container bookings.
- Supply dating and daily approvals.
- Obtaining and approving freight quotes.
- Working with freight forwarders and DC to prioritise container deliveries based on the needs of the business.
Performance Management
- Support Supply Chain Analyst with establishing freight spend forecast
- Monitor CPU to drive actions where deviation from Annual Operating Plan is identified.
- Cost saving projects.
- Report KPI metrics to the business as required.
What we are seeking…
- Experience of working within Supply Chain
- Exposure to forecasting, bringing new products to market and freight would be advantageous
- Previous experience of Oracle and any software applications related to Oracle would be advantageous
- Intermediate/Advanced Excel knowledge including vlookup and pivot tables
- An analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Target and deadline orientated, with excellent time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, coordinate multiple priorities, and work independently and proactively
